Murakami

I had a 3 hour break between my classes today, so I decided to catch a bus to the massive Kinokuniya bookshop. I originally went there to purchase books on street photography but ended up buying this novel instead. I already have a copy of this book and all of Haruki Murakami’s work in my eBook reader, but when I walked past this certain copy, I fell in love with the cover… And since I’m a huge fan of Murakami’s, I decided to buy it…. *sigh* … now I NEED to buy the whole collection of his work in hard-copy… which I would love to include in my mini library… but I’m still trying to save for a new lens.. so maybe after that! ahaha..

But since this is a photography blog, let’s get back on topic… what an amazing cover!

This black and white portrait matches the context of the book a lot more than the previous version (http://bookcoverarchive.com/images/books/norwegian_wood.large.jpg).

Anyway, I used the grainy film filter for this shot.

P.S. If you’re wondering, the title of this book is from The Beatles song, also titled ‘Norwegian Wood’.
